SU CITY SUE - MO
SUMO X MOJO DAUGHTER

On September 5, 2005 we attended Jim and Lynn Farmer's production sale with our good friends Brian and Diana King. I don't know why Brian and Diana went to the auction but Judy and I just went to look and perhaps buy some Rambo semen. As it turned out, we didn't buy the Rambo semen but we did buy three straws of Blue Chip semen and three straws of Sumo semen and then a bad thing happened. As I watched the goats pass through one by one, I began to get the buying fever. I had originally gone to buy Rambo semen but on arrival we saw a Rambo daughter that Jim and Lynn were offering for sale. This doe was as big as the side of a barn and correct in every way. I wanted her. I decided that if she didn't go for more than $4500.00 I would try to buy her. The next thing I knew the bidding was at $6000.00 and me and the person who bought her were the only bidders. I wanted her but I decided that the other bidder was stouter than I was so I bowed my head and dropped out. By now I had buying fever in the worst way and the only known cure for buying fever is to buy something. Another doe that had immediately caught our eye when we arrived at the sale was a Sumo bred doe out of a Mojo daughter. There are always one or two animals in a sale that are the "class" of the sale and the Rambo daughter and this Sumo daughter were the "class" of this particular sale. While Su City Sue - MO FSE 4057 (10233737) was not nearly as massive as the Rambo daughter, she was probably more refined in the neck and shoulder area with a beautiful head and a strong top line. This doe eventually became the second highest selling doe in the sale and fortunately we were the ones to make the winning bid.

SUMO

We flushed Su City Sue - Mo to Moon Smoke on October 15, 2005 and got 20 grade one embryo's that we implanted in ten recip's. Our recip's should be kidding around the first week of March 2006 and we are looking forward eagerly to see the results of this crossing of  PRIME----MOJO AND MAGNUM----GENETICS. If the babies are not awesome I will be surprised. We are expecting long, tall, wide, clean fronted goats with good extension on the neck and the strong bone structure that is so characteristic of Mojo and Magnum genetics.
