JAE BOER GOATS (Phil and Judy Digby) is located in the mesquite trees of Northwest Texas at the Lake Arrowhead Estates  ten miles Southeast of Wichita Falls, Texas and twenty miles South of the Red River that divides Texas from Oklahoma. 

Since our early misadventures in the goat business (READ HOOKED ON GOATS), we have developed what we believe to be a BREEDING PHILOSOPHY that produces GENETICALLY SUPERIOR goats. 

Our first awakening to what GREAT GENETICS could produce came when we saw a buck that weighed one hundred twenty pounds at four months old.  (WHAT A RUDE AWAKENING)!!!  We didn't own an animal that weighed one hundred twenty pounds  at one year old. 

We decided we wanted these kind of AWARD WINNING GENETICS in our herd.  GENETICS that would make us proud and that would produce QUALITY TIME AFTER TIME. 

As much as it hurt, we were smart enough to realize that we were going to have to start over.  We got rid of our junk goats and set out on a course of action designed to produce animals with OUTSTANDING GENETICS that characterized the very best in the Boer Goat industry (NO EASY TASK AND CERTAINLY NOT AN INEXPENSIVE ONE AS WE WERE TO LEARN, BUT A MOST REWARDING AND SATISIFYING ENDEAVOR).

 If we were to achieve our GOAL of producing EXCELLENCE IN GOATS, we realized our first step must be to purchase SUPERIOR BREEDING STOCK.

 We wanted goats that would PRODUCE MEAT and LOTS OF IT but at the same time would have EYE APPEAL, be STRUCTURALLY SOUND, and could WIN in the SHOW RING.

 BUCK POWER, FEMALE POWER, STYLE, EYE APPEAL, HEAVILY MUSCLED, POWERFUL CHEST, GOOD TWIST, GREAT TOP LINE are just fanciful dreams unless you can find animals that will produce these CHAMPIONSHIP QUALITIES.

 To do this we knew we had to find ourselves a PREMIUM GENETIC POOL that would provide these  DESIRED TRAITS.
